Chicago Demonstration and Special Event Activity: February 1 to February 15, 2023

In coordination with our cross-sector public safety partners, Titan Security is aware of multiple pending protests and special events in or near the Chicago Loop.

Anticipated Events and Demonstrations

  • Wednesday, February 1 at 10:00am: 100 E Erie (Metro Water Reclamation District), Group will gather for their cause “MWRD’s 4th Annual Pan-African Flag Raising Ceremony”
  • Thursday, February 2 at 5:00pm: 803 S Morgan (UIC Quad), Group will gather for their cause “Justice for Tyre Nichols! Jail All Killer Cops!“ *
  • Thursday, February 2 at 5:00pm: 401 N Morgan (Morgan Events Space), Groups will gather for fundraiser / counterprotest “Fighting Forward: Freedom for Every Body” and “Protest Planned Parenthood”
  • Saturday, February 4 at 11:00am: Loop Location TBD, Group will gather for their cause “Saving Israeli Democracy”
  • Sunday, February 5 at 12:00pm: 78 E Washington (Chicago Cultural Center), Group will gather for their event “Chinese New Year Lantern Festival”
  • Friday, February 10 at 5:00pm: 1135 S Michigan (Grant Skate Park), Group will gather for their cause “Healing Vigil – Honoring Tyre Nichols and All Victims of Police Brutality” *
  • Saturday, February 11 at 9:00am: 659 W Washington (Family Planning Associates), Group will gather for their cause “Prayer Walk and Evangelism with Love Life Ministries”
  • Saturday, February 11 at 12:00pm: E Ida B Wells/S Michigan, Group will gather for their cause “Support Iranian People to Designate the IRGC as a Terrorist Group”
  • Monday, February 13 at 6:30pm: 455 N Cityfront Plaza (Turkish Consulate), Group will gather for their cause “Vigil for Earthquake Victims in Turkiye and Syria”

Safety Tips Near/During Protests

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
