Chicago Demonstration and Special Event Activity: May 1 to May 15, 2025

In collaboration with our cross-sector public safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the following anticipated protests and special events in or near the Chicago Loop. Listings are updated on a regular basis, and are presented in chronological two-week periods.

Anticipated Demonstrations and Events

  • Thursday, May 1 at 9:00am: 1501 W Randolph (Union Park) to 300 S Columbus (Grant Park), Group will gather/march for their cause “May 1st International Workers Day” *
  • Thursday, May 1 at 4:00pm: 175 N Des Plaines, Group will gather for their event “Haymarket Memorial Plaque Dedication”
  • Friday, May 2 at 4:00pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their event “High School and College Walkouts Against Trump Agenda”
  • Friday, May 2 at 6:00pm: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group will gather for their cause “(Anti-Abortion) Abolitionist Agitation”
  • Saturday, May 3 at 11:30am: 700 S Columbus to 100 N Columbus, Group will gather for their event “Polish Constitution Day Parade”
  • Saturday, May 3 at 12:30pm: 901 N Clark (Washington Sq Park) to 44 E Ontario (Trader Joe’s), Group may gather/march for their cause “Cut Ties with Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry”
  • Saturday, May 3 at 4:00pm: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group may gather for their event “Teen Trend” ^
  • Sunday, May 4 at 8:00am: E Chicago/N Michigan, Group will gather/march for their event “St. Jude Memorial March”
  • Sunday, May 4 at TBD/afternoon: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group may gather for their cause “May the 4th Enlist Now: Peaceful Rally / Street Theatre Against Fascist Empire”
  • Wednesday, May 7 at 11:00am: 121 N LaSalle (City Hall), Group may gather for their cause “Press Conference: We Took the City to Trial and Won”
  • Thursday, May 8 at 11:00am: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group may gather for their cause “Israeli Flag Raising” **
  • Thursday, May 8 at 4:00pm: 300 S Columbus (Grant Park), Group will gather for their event “JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge”
  • Friday, May 9 at 4:30pm: 500 W Madison (Israeli Consulate), Group will gather for their cause “Students All Out for Gaza”
  • Saturday, May 10 at 11:00am: 1200 S DuSable Lake Shore (Shedd Aquarium), Group will gather for their cause “Empty the Tanks”
  • Saturday, May 10 at 2:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Palestinian Flag Raising”
  • Sunday, May 11 at 4:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group may gather for their cause “The Great Polonia Protest in America”
  • Thursday, May 15 at 7:00pm: 1400 Special Olympics (Soldier Field), Group will gather for their event “Beyonce Concert”
  • Ongoing: Short-notice protests opposing current federal administration policies are anticipated to continue, including localized traffic and transit disruptions
  • Ongoing: Weekly protests midday on Saturdays are anticipated to continue at Tesla dealerships near the Loop, including 717 S Des Plaines and 901 N Rush, with localized traffic and transit disruptions

Notes/Analysis

* = Coalition of multiple labor, immigration, and 1st Amendment activist groups; Route of march is anticipated to be Washington Blvd out of Union Park, Morgan to Jackson Blvd, east to Columbus Dr and into Grant Park

** = Counterprotesters are expected if this event takes place

^ = Highly-localized gatherings of teens organized on social media, referred to as “trends” or “takeovers,” with highly weather-dependent attendance and possible traffic and transit interruptions

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
