Chicago Event and Protest Activity: February 1 to February 15, 2024

In coordination with our cross-sector public safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the following anticipated special event and demonstration activity in or near the Chicago Loop.

Protests and Events

  • Thursday, February 1 at 9:00am: 560 W Grand (Chicago Tribune printing plant), Group will gather for their cause “Join Us on the Picket Line: Tribune Publishing Workers on Strike”
  • Thursday, February 1 at 10:30am: 121 N LaSalle (City Hall), Group will gather for their cause “Gig Workers are in Fear for Their Lives”
  • Friday, February 2 at 7:00pm: Location TBD, Group may gather for their cause “”Worker Vigil for Gaza”
  • Saturday, February 3 at 9:00am: 1200 N LaSalle (Planned Parenthood), Group will gather for their cause “Final Lines: Abortion Mill Outreach”
  • Tuesday, February 6 at 12:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “CPS Parents for Buses: Getting All Kids to School Protest”
  • Friday, February 9 at 6:00pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather/march for their cause “Black & Brown Chicago Stands With Palestine and Demands Hands Off Yemen” *
  • Saturday, February 10 at 11:00am: 419 N Michigan (Brickhouse Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Stop Repressions in Bashqortostan! Freedom for Alsynova!”
  • Saturday, February 10 at 11:30am: Hanover Park (suburban train station), Group will gather/drive for their cause “Put the Brakes on Genocide: Drive with the Gaza Caravan” **
  • Saturday, February 10 at 1:00pm: 560 W Grand (Chicago Tribune), Group will gather/march for their cause “Chicago Demands an End to the U.S.-Backed Israeli Genocide in Gaza Now!”
  • Monday, February 12 at 4:30pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal; Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Emergency Protest for Rafah”
  • February 10 to February 19: 2301 S Martin Luther King (McCormick Place), Group will gather for their event “Chicago Auto Show 2024” ***
  • Wednesday, February 14 at 8:30am: 400 W Superior (Administrative Hearings), Group will gather for their cause “Fight for Our Permit”
  • Wednesday, February 14 at 11:30am: 330 N Wabash (AMA Building), Group will gather for their cause “Protest at the American Medical Association”
  • Wednesday, February 14 at 4:00pm: 320 N Morgan/1000 W Fulton (Google), Group will gather for their cause “No Love for Genocide”
  • Thursday, February 15 at 11:00am: 65 W Jackson (Union League Club), Group will gather for their cause “No Money for Homeless? No Money for DNC!”
  • Ongoing: short-notice protests related to the conflict in Gaza are anticipated to continue, including localized traffic and transit disruptions

Notes/Analysis

* = Student “feeder march” may begin at UIC campus in West Loop prior to gathering at Federal Plaza

** = Car caravan gathering in near northwest suburbs; route may impact interstate or Loop traffic

*** = Media preview and charity events on 02/08 and 02/09; Open to public as of 02/10

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
