Chicago Protests and Events: July 15 to July 31, 2023

In coordination with our cross-sector public safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the following anticipated special event and demonstration activity in or near the Chicago Loop.

Protests and Events

  • Saturday July 15 at 1:00pm: 60 W Walton (Washington Square Park), Group will gather for their event “Bughouse Square Debates”
  • Saturday, July 15 at 2:00pm: 8 S Michigan, Group will gather/march for their cause “Fake Clinics: A Rally and March in Chicago”
  • Saturday, July 15 at 2:00pm: 337 E Randolph (Maggie Daley Park), Group will gather for their event “Luxury Pinkniq Chicago”
  • Saturday, July 15 at 6:30pm: 100 W Erie (Chinese Consulate), Group will gather for their cause “Falun Dafa Group Meditation Exercises and Candlelight Vigil to Commemorate Falun Gong”
  • Saturday, July 15 at 9:45pm: 600 E Grand (Navy Pier), Group will gather for their event “Navy Pier Drone Show and Fireworks Display” *
  • Thursday, July 20 at 12:00pm: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park) to 300 S Columbus (Buckingham Fountain), Group will gather/march for their cause “SAG-AFTRA Chicago Solidarity Walk and Rally”
  • Friday, July 21 at 6:30pm: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group may gather for their event “Teen Trend” **
  • Saturday, July 22 at 11:00am: 401 S Plymouth to 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather/march for their event “Disability Pride Parade”
  • Saturday, July 22 at 11:30am: 100 W Ontario (Portillo’s), Group will gather for thier cause “Press Conference and Rally in Support of Portillo’s Workers”
  • Saturday, July 22 at 1:00pm: 100 W Randolph (Thompson Center), Group may gather/march for thier cause “A March for Justice – We Need Answers”
  • Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23: 1200 Special Olympics (Soldier Field), Group will gather for their event “Beyonce Knowles Concert”
  • Sunday, July 23 at 2pm: 122 S Michigan (Philipine Consulate), Group will gather for their cause “Services Not Surveillance for Filipinos Overseas”
  • Friday, July 28 at 5:30pm: 50 W Washignton (Daley Plaza), Group will gather/ride for their event “Critical Mass Takeover” ***
  • Saturday, July 29 at 5:30pm: 116 S Michigan, Group will gather for their cause “Protest Animal Abuse at Jolibee”
  • Saturday July 29 at 7:00pm: 1200 Special Olympics (Soldier Field), Group will gather for their event “Ed Sheeran Concert”
  • Sunday, July 20 at 5:00pm: 1135 S Delano (Roosevelt Collection), Group may gather for their event “Teen Trend” **

Notes/Analysis

* = Fireworks displays continue throughout summer, each Wednesday at 9pm and Saturday at 10pm; Drone show for Navy Pier birthday at 9:45pm on July 15
** = One of an ongoing series of teen meet-ups organized online and largely weather dependent

*** = Ongoing series of large bicycle rides beginning in Loop on Friday evenings; Jult event includes skateboarders as well

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
