Chicago Special Event and Protest Activity: October 1 to October 15, 2024

In coordination with our cross-sector public safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the following special event and demonstrations activity in or near the Chicago Loop. Listings are grouped into two-week periods and updated on a regular basis.

Anticipated Demonstrations and Events

  • Tuesday, October 1 at 9:30am: 160 N LaSalle (Blandic Building), Group will gather for their cause “Free Kevin Jackson! Free Lester Owens!”
  • Tuesday, October 1 at 5:00pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather/march for their cause “Hands Off Lebanon!”
  • Friday, October 4 at 5:00pm: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group may gather for their event “Teen Trend” *
  • Saturday October 5 at 12:00pm: 200-228 S Jefferson (The Warehouse), Group will gather for their event “Honoring The Warehouse: the Birthplace of House Music”
  • Saturday, October 5 at 2:00pm: 806 N Michigan (Water Tower), Group will gather/march for their cause “One Year of Genocide, One Year of Resistance” **
  • Sunday, October 6 at 12:00pm: 400 N Michigan, Group will gather/march for their cause “A Year of Hope: Walking to Free the Hostages” **
  • Sunday, October 6 at 12:00pm: 1410 Special Olympics (Soldier Field), Group will gather for their event “Chicago Bears NFL Game”
  • Monday, October 7 at 7:00pm: Loop Location TBD, Group will gather for their cause “Every Life, A Universe: A Chicago Memorial Gathering” **
  • Thursday, October 10 at 8:00am: Loop or Near North Transit Station, Group will gather for their cause “Take Action to End a Year of Genocide: Arms Embargo Now!”
  • Sunday, October 13 at 7:00am: E Monroe / S Columbus, Group will gather/run for their event “Chicago Marathon” ^
  • Monday, October 14 at 8:00am: 300 N State to 600 S State, Group will gather/march for their event “Columbus Day Parade” ^
  • Monday, October 14 at 11:00am: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for theri cause “Illinois State Association of Letter Carriers Day of Action”
  • Tuesday, October 15 at 9:00am: Loop Location TBD, Group will gather for their cause “No Racist Trump in Chicago “
  • Ongoing: Short-notice protests related to the conflict in Gaza are anticipated to continue, including localized traffic and transit disruptions

Notes/Analysis

* = Teen gatherings or meet ups driven by social media; attendance is highly weather-dependent

** = October 7 marks the one-year anniversary of the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Israel, Lebanon; Anticipate widespread protests and memorials on/near the date

^ = Various demonstrators have expressed intent to interrupt or disrupt public events near the Gaza anniversary

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
