Chicago Special Events and Protests: February 15 to February 29, 2024

In coordination with our cross-sector public safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the following anticipated protest and special event activity in or near the Chicago Loop.

Demonstrations and Events

  • Continuing to February 19: 2301 S Martin Luther King (McCormick Place), Group will gather for their event “Chicago Auto Show 2024”
  • Thursday, February 15 at 9:00am: 121 N LaSalle (City Hall), Group will gather for their cause “Come Out to City Hall to Defeat Arbitration”
  • Thursday, February 15 at 11:00am: 65 W Jackson (Union League Club), Group will gather for their cause “No Money for Unhoused? No Money for DNC!”
  • Monday, February 19 at 11:00am: 1601 N Clark (Chicago History Museum), Group will gather/march for their cause “Letters for a Free Palestine”
  • Tuesday, February 20 at 1:00pm: 725 W Roosevelt (UIC Forum), Group may gather for their cause “Doctor Fauci and Chancellor Miranda Cut the Ties! You’re Supporting Genocide!”
  • Tuesday, February 20 at 4:00pm: 400 N Michigan, Group will gather for their cause “Drop the Charges Against Julian Assange”
  • Thursday, February 22 at 8:00am: 42 W Madison (CPS Headquarters), Group will gather for their cause “Gather at Chicago’s Board of Education for Real Safety and Removing Cops”
  • Friday, February 23 at 9:00am: 60 E Monroe, Group will gather for their cause “Justice for Abnerd Joseph”
  • Saturday, February 24 at 11:00am: Hanover Park Metra Station, Group will gather/drive for their cause “Put the Brakes on Genocide: Drive with Gaza Caravan” (may enter Loop during afternoon)
  • Saturday, February 24 at 2:00pm: 400 N Michigan to 10 E Huron, Group will gather/march for their cause “2 Years of Terror: Anti-Putin Russia Stands with Ukraine” *
  • Saturday, February 24 at 5:00pm: 98 E Wacker to 735 N State (Holy Name Cathedral), Group will gather/march for their cause “2nd Anniversary Protest March of Russian Invasion of Ukraine” *
  • Saturday, February 24 at 6:00pm: 150 W Roosevelt (Roosevelt Collection), Group may gather for their event “Trend Teen Meetup”
  • Sunday, February 25 at 12:00pm: 901 N Clark (Washington Sq Park), Group will gather for their cause “We Continue to Demand an End to US-Backed Israeli Genocide in Gaza”
  • Tuesday, February 27 at 5:00pm: 100 W Erie (Chinese Consulate), Group will gather for their cause “The CCP Must Stop the Forced Resettlement of Tibetans in Tibet”
  • Thursday, February 29 at 6:30pm: 500 W Madison (Israeli Consulate), Group will gather for their cause “Vigil for Aaron Bushnell” **
  • Ongoing: short-notice protests related to the conflict in Gaza are anticipated to continue, including localized traffic and transit disruptions

Notes/Analysis

* = Unclear if Ukraine protest organizers are coordinating; events may combine on Saturday afternoon

** = Vigil for individual who set themselves alight at embassy in Washington D.C.

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
