Chicago Demonstration and Special Event Activity: September 16 to September 30, 2023

In partnership with other cross-sector, public-safety organizations, Titan Security is monitoring several anticipated protests and special events in or near the Chicago Loop.

Anticipated Protest and Event Activity

  • Saturday, September 16: Multiple locations, including Little Village, Back of the Yards and South Loop, Group(s) will gather and drive for their event “Mexican Independence Day” *
  • Saturday, September 16 at 12:00pm: 301 S Columbus (Buckingham Fountain), Group will gather for their cause “Say Her Name”
  • Saturday, September 16 at 1:00pm: 153 E Erie (TGI Fridays), Group will gather for their cause “Mercy for Animals: TGIF Demonstration”
  • Saturday, September 16 at 2:00pm: 900 N Michigan (Max Mara and Louis Vuitton), Group will gather for their cause “Chicago Fur Protests”
  • Saturday, September 16 at 4:00pm: 1135 S Delano (Roosevelt Collection), Group may gather for their event “Teen Trend Meetup” **
  • Monday, September 18 at 11:45am: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Peace Day Chicago 45th Anniversary Celebration”
  • Friday, September 22 at 10:00am: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Rally for Healthcare for All”
  • Saturday, September 23 at 12:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Armenian Independence Day Flag Raising”
  • Saturday, September 23 at 12:00pm: 3500 S Dan Ryan, Group may gather/march for their cause “Universal Shutdown Dan Ryan Expressway” ***
  • Saturday, September 23 at 2:00pm: 900 N Michigan (Louis Vuitton, Max Mara), Group will gather for their cause “Chicago Fur Protests at Max Mara & Louis Vuitton” ****
  • Saturday, September 23 at 3:00pm: 400 N Michigan to 122 S Michigan (Philippine Consulate), Group will gather/march for their cause “51st Anniversary of Martial Law in the Philippines”
  • Wednesday, September 27 at 10:00am: 121 N LaSalle (City Hall)., Group will gather for their cause “City Hall Meetup: Protect Black Housing in Chicago”
  • Thursday, September 28 at 5:00pm: 65 W Jackson (Union League Club), Group will gather/march for their cause “Stop Fake Clinics: A Pro-abortion Picket Line”
  • Friday, September 29 at 4:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Freedom, Justice, & Housing for Migrants: No Tent City!”


* = Mexican independence Day is September 15, with block parties and car caravans expected; local traffic disruptions can be anticipated

** = Groups of teens and young adults utilizing social media to schedule meeting location; attendance is highly weather-dependent

*** = Group has previously called for blocking expressways, but prior turnout has been low and impact minimal

*** = Organizers state that this will be a weekly protest event at 900 N Michigan

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
