Chicago Demonstrations and Special Events: April 15 to April 30, 2024

In coordination with our cross-sector public safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the following special event and demonstration activity in or near the Chicago Loop in late April.

Anticipated Protests and Special Events

  • Monday, April 15 at 3:00pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather/march for this cause “All Out for Palestine” *
  • Monday, April 15 at TBD: Locations pending, Group (s) may gather for their cause “Coordinated Economic Blockade to Free Palestine” *
  • Tuesday, April 16 at 5:30pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group may gather/march for their cause “No War on Iran”
  • Wednesday, April 17 at 10:00am: 720 S Michigan (Hilton Chicago), Group will gather for their cause “Palestine Prisoner Day”
  • Wednesday, April 17 at 5:30pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group may gather/march for their cause “No War on Iran”
  • Thursday, April 18 through Friday, May 10: Various Walgreens locations, Group will gather/picket for their cause “Pharmacists are Phed Up”
  • Thursday, April 18 at 4:30pm: 435 N Michigan (Tribune Building), Group will gather for their cause “Stand with Israel Rally” **
  • Friday, April 19 at 10:00am: 500 N Michigan (Columbian Consulate), Group may gather for their cause “Columbians Abroad Grand Sit-In”
  • Friday, April 19 at 12:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Stand Silent Witness: Sexual Assault Awareness Month”
  • Friday, April 19 at 2:30pm: 310 S State (Pritzker Park), Group may gather for their cause “Global Strike to End Fossil Fuels”
  • Saturday, April 19 at 1:00pm: E Ida B Wells/S Michigan, Group will gather/march for their cause “Chicago Stands with Palestine”
  • Saturday, April 20 at 5:30pm: 100 W Erie (Chinese Consulate), Group will gather for their cause “Falun Dafa Exercises and Rally”
  • Sunday, April 21 at 1:00pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group may gather for their cause “South Tacoma Community is under attack by Chicago-based Bridge Industrial” ***
  • Friday, April 26 at 12:30pm: 618 S Michigan (Columbia College) to 111 S Michigan (Art Institute), Group will gather/march for their cause “Walk Out and Strike for Gaza”
  • Friday, April 26 at 5:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Gather for Sudan Civil War – The Silent Genocide”
  • Friday, April 26 at 6:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Critical Mass (Bicycle Caravan)”
  • Ongoing: short-notice protests related to the conflict in Gaza are anticipated to continue, including localized traffic and transit disruptions

Notes/Analysis

* = Part of multi-city protest event; anticipate various small-scale demonstrations intended to disrupt transit, etc.

** = High likelihood of counterprotesters at this event

*** = Group previously scheduled a protest at 444 W Lake, but cancelled just prior

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
