Chicago Events and Demonstrations: December 15 to December 31, 2023

In coordination with our cross-sector public safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the following special events and protests in or near the Chicago Loop.

Anticipated Protests and Special Events

  • December 15 to December 24: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather daily for their event “Christkindlmarket”
  • Friday, December 15 at 7:00pm: 111 S Michigan (Art Institute of Chicago), Group will gather for their cause “Vigil for Gaza” *
  • Saturday, December 16 at 11:00am: 435 N Michigan (Tribune Tower), Group will gather for their cause “Rally to Save the Tribune”
  • Saturday, December 16 at 1:00pm: 301 S Columbus (Buckingham Fountain), Group will gather for their cause “Healthcare Workers for a Creative Action and Rally in Honor of all Palestinians Killed in Gaza”
  • Saturday, December 16 at 2:00pm: 806 N Michigan (Water Tower), Group will gather/march for their cause “Protest & March Against Ongoing U.S.-Backed Israeli Genocide”
  • Saturday, December 16 at 7:30pm: 205 E Randolph (Harris Theater), Group will gather for their event “YLD’s Big Event Fundraiser 2023”
  • Sunday, December 17 at 2:00pm: 190 N State, Group will gather for their cause “Stop Amhara Genocide in Ethiopia”
  • Friday, December 22 at 6:00pm: 111 S Michigan (Art Institute), Group will gather for their cause “Cultural Workers Vigil for Palestine: No Federal Funding for Israel – Ceasefire Now!”
  • Friday, December 29 at 6:00pm: 111 S Michigan (Art Institute of Chicago), Group will gather for their cause “Cultural & Healthcare Workers Solidarity Vigil for Gaza”
  • Sunday, December 31 at 12:00pm: S Michigan/E Ida B Wells, Group will gather/march for their cause “End the New Year with Ending Genocide”
  • Sunday, December 31 at 6:00pm: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group may gather for their event “Teen Trend Meetup”
  • Sunday, December 31 at 10:00pm: 71 W Van Buren (Federal Corrections), Group will gather for their cause “New Year’s Eve Noise Demo: Free Them All”
  • Sunday, December 31, 7:30pm to Midnight: 260 W Wacker Drive, Group will gather for their event “Art on the Mart/Fireworks Display” **
  • Ongoing: short-notice protests related to the conflict in Gaza are anticipated to continue, including localized traffic and transit disruptions

** = Seasonal art projected on Merchandise Mart during evening; fireworks along river at midnight from Columbus (east) to Franklin (west), and at Navy Pier (600 E Grand)

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
