Chicago Protests and Special Events: September 1 to September 15, 2023

In coordination with our partners across various public safety and security organizations, Titan Security is monitoring the following activities in or near the Chicago Loop.

Anticipated Events and Demonstrations

  • Thursday, August 31 to Sunday, September 3: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group will gather for their event “Chicago Jazz Fest”
  • Saturday, September 2 at 2:00pm: 401 N Michigan (‘Pakistan Consulate’), Group will gather/drive for their cause “Release Imran Khan. Stop Human Rights Violations. Restore Democracy in Pakistan (Car Caravan and Rally)” *
  • Sunday, September 3 at 6:30am: 5700 N Dusable Lake Shore to 5700 S Dusable Lake Shore, Group will gather/ride for their event “Bike the Drive” (street closures through noon)
  • Wednesday, September 6 at 12:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Ethiopian Flag Raising Ceremony”
  • Friday, September 8 at 11:00am: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “International Falsely Accused Day”
  • Friday, September 8, to Sunday September 10: 333 S Columbus (Grant Park), Group will gather for their event “Taste of Chicago 2023” **
  • Saturday, September 9 at 1:00pm: 311 S Wacker, Group may gather for their cause “Free Julian Assange”
  • Sunday, September 10 at 11:30am: 110 N Wacker (Bank of America), Group will gather for their cause “Chicago Rally to Stop Cop City”
  • Sunday, September 10 at 3:00pm: 1410 Special Olympics (Soldier Field), Group will gather for their event “Bears NFL Season Opener” ***
  • Wednesday, September 13 from 7:00am to 2:00pm: Michigan Avenue will be closed from East Walton Street to East Chicago Avenue for the funeral of fallen Chicago Firefighter, Lieutenant-EMT Kevin P. Ward of Truck Company 9.
  • Thursday, September 14 at 5:00pm: 401 N Morgan (Morgan Manufacturing), Protest JB Pritzker and Planned Parenthood”
  • Friday, September 15 at 2:00pm: 1201 W Lake, Group will gather for their cause “Coca Cola / Fairlife Abuses Cows Rally”
  • Friday, September 15 at 4:00pm: 310 S State (Pritzker Park), Group will gather/march for their cause “Global Climate Strike Chicago” ****
  • Friday, September 15 at 7:00pm: 1410 Special Olympics (Soldier Field), Group will gather for their event “Karol G Concert”
  • Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16: Multiple locations, including Little Village, Back of the Yards and South Loop, Group(s) will gather and drive for their event “Mexican Independence Day” *****

Notes/Analysis

* = Protest is listed at 401 N Michigan, although the actual Pakistani consular office is at 333 N Michigan

** = Annual food festival has moved from July to September; Expect extensive local street closures.

*** = First 2023 regular season NFL game for the Chicago Bears franchise

**** = March route may include Federal Plaza (230 S Dearborn) and Chase Bank (10 S Dearborn)

***** = Mexican independence Day is September 15, with block parties and car caravans expected; local traffic disruptions can be anticipated

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
