Winter Storm Warning – January 28, 2022

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Cook County.

Titan Security has been alerted that NWS has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Cook County that is in effect from 2:00 a.m. CT Friday January 28, 2022 and expires at 12:00 p.m. CT on January 28, 2022. Anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow is expected to fall in the highest areas, however other areas within the county may experience significantly less snowfall if they are not impacted directly by the heavy snow band.

Heavy lake effect snow is expected to fall at 2 or more inches per hour at times. Conditions will be highly variable, potentially going from just flurries to near white out conditions with heavy snow. Under the intense snow band, travel will likely be extremely difficult, including during the height of Friday morning rush hour.

If you must travel, please take additional time to prepare for the weather conditions and use caution, as roadways may become snow-covered and slippery leading to unfavorable conditions. Visibility will also be sharply reduced during snowfall in specific areas.
