Notice of Protest Activity: January, 2022

In conjunction with our cross-sector public safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring a number of anticipated demonstrations and special events in the Chicago area the week of January 3, 2022. Additional information is provided below.

Anticipated Event Activity

  • Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:30am: 100 W Randolph (Thompson Center), Group will gather for their cause “Rally to Stop V-Passports”
  • Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00am: 100 W Randolph (Thompson Center), Group will gather for their cause “Highlight Inequities in the Cannabis Industry Against Black Communities and the Formerly Incarcerated”
  • Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 6:00pm: 454 N Cityfront Plaza (NBC Tower), Group will gather for their cause “Global Day of Action – No Beijing Olympics 2022”
  • Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 4:00pm: Webster Street Free Speech Pavilion (Naperville), Group will gather for their cause “Rise Up, Speak Out: A Vigil for Democracy”
  • Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 5:30pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Rise Up, Speak Out: A Vigil for Democracy”
  • Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10:00am: 121 N LaSalle (City Hall), Group will gather for their cause “Freedom of Choice Rally – No Vax Passes!”
  • Saturday January 8, 2022 at 12:00pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Counter the March for Lies” *
  • Saturday January 8, 2022 at 1:00pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “March for Life Chicago 2022” *
  • Sunday January 9, 2022 at 3:00pm: 835 N Michigan (Water Tower Place), Group will gather for their cause “Rally for Ukraine”
  • Friday, January 14, 2022 at 12:30pm: Multiple Locations, Group(s) will gather/march for their cause “District-Wide Student Walkout”
  • Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00pm: 8 S Michigan, Group will gather for their cause “Protest Fake Clinics”

* = Annual protest and counterprotest; tensions raised this year due to pending U.S. Supreme Court ruling on abortion access

Safety Tips Near/During Protests

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
