Notice of Protest Activity: July 28–August 7, 2021

We have received information indicating multiple public gatherings and protests scheduled for Wednesday, July 28th through Saturday, August 7th. Tentative info for the protest activity is listed below:

Scheduled Protests/Assemblies

Sunday, July 25th to August 1st, 2021

  • This will take place at various locations and the group will gather for their cause “Animal Activism Mentorship.” *

Wednesday, July 28th, 2021

  • 9:00 am at 42 W Madison (CPS Headquarters). The group will gather for their cause “We Want Our Children Safe!”

Friday, July 30th, 2021

  • 6:00 pm at 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza). The group will gather for their cause “Chicago Critical Mass Bicycle Caravan.”

Saturday, July 31st, 2021

  • 4:00 pm at 401 N Wabash (Trump Tower). The group will gather for their cause “Save Our Children March (QAnon Affiliated).”
  • 6:00 pm at 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park). The group will gather for their cause “Lollapalooza: No Justice, No Peace.” **

Saturday, August 7th, 2021

  • 12:00 pm at 39 W 47th Street. The group will gather/march for their cause “Shutdown Our Dan Ryan w/1000 Protestors: We Get No Justice.” ***

Notes/Analysis

* = Animal rights activists planning multiple small-scale protests during week – including 07/29 at 111 E Chicago and 1100 N State

** = Lollapalooza runs from 07/29 to 08/01 in Grant Park; anticipate various small protests around the periphery of the event; link to PDF of street closures below

*** = Protest has potential to disrupt traffic entering/exiting Loop; previous events by this organizer have had underwhelming attendance

Safety Tips:

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
  • If you see an unattended bag, alert police as quickly as possible
