We have received information of public gatherings and large caravans related to the “EL GRITO” Mexican Independence celebration. We are not sure the number, if any, but due to last year’s celebration, CPD is preparing for crowds on lake shore drive from September 11th through September 18h. Please anticipate longer travel times and delays.
Tentative info for the activity is listed below:
- Nightly through September 18th at 9:00 pm at 4343 S Pulaski. The group will gather for their cause “Mexican Independence Day Take Over Week Car Caravan.”
- Mexican Independence Day on September 16th. Multiple large caravans are anticipated which will significantly impact local traffic flow.
