Updated Chicago Area Demonstration Activity: May 6 to May 15, 2022

Coordinating with our cross-sector partners in public safety, Titan Security is currently monitoring the following protests and special events in the Chicago area. The current situation remains extremely fluid, and we recommend stakeholders remain alert and informed.

Anticipated Demonstrations and Special Events

  • Saturday, May 7 at 11:30am, 700 S Columbus to 100 S Columbus, Group will gather/march for their cause “Polish Constitution Day Parade” *
  • Saturday, May 7 at 11:00am, 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Emergency Rally: Defend Roe! Fight for Abortion Rights/We Won’t Go Back” **
  • Sunday, May 8 at 12:00pm, 919 N Michigan (Louis Vuitton), Group will gather for their cause “Fur Protest Against Louis Vuitton”
  • Monday, May 9 at 10:00am, 149 N Michigan (Michigan and Randolph), Group will gather for their cause “Chicago Circumcision Crisis Protest 1.0”
  • Monday, May 9 at 6:00pm, 122 S Michigan (Philippine Consulate), Group will gather for their cause “Vigil for a Clean & Honest Election”
  • Tuesday, May 10 at 10:00am, 101 W Ida B Wells (ICE Regional HQ), Group will gather for their cause “Octaviano’s Deportation Can Be Stopped!”
  • Wednesday, May 11 at 3:45pm, 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza) to 600 E Grand (Navy Pier), Group will gather/march for their cause “Carry the Load National Memorial May Rally – Midwest Relay”
  • Wednesday, May 11 at 6:00pm, S Michigan/E Ida B Wells, Group will gather for their cause “Rally: Legalize Abortion Once and For All” **
  • Thursday, May 12 at 5:00pm, 221 N Columbus (Radisson Blu Aqua), Group will gather for their cause “Protest Planned Parenthood Fundraiser in Chicago” **
  • Saturday, May 14 at 9:30am, 1500 W Washington (Union Park), Groups will gather/march for their cause “Bans Off Our Bodies Day of Action/Rally for Abortion Justice Chicago” ***
  • Saturday, May 14 at 12:00pm, 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Rally for Roe – Gather to Defend Roe v Wade” ***
  • Saturday, May 14 at 1:00pm, 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park, Wrigley Square), Group may gather/march for their cause “Abortion on Demand and Without Apology!” ***
  • Sunday, May 15 at 2:00pm, 250 N LaSalle (approximate), Group will gather for their cause “Defend Roe: Chicago” **

Notes/Analysis

* = One in a series of national/ethnic parades during warm-weather months

** = Anticipate multiple large-scale protests and demonstrations related to pending U.S. Supreme Court abortion ruling

*** = Large-scale protests and counterprotests anticipated on May 14; multiple gatherings and marches may combine into one location

Safety Tips Near/During Protests

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
