Chicago Event and Protest Activity: July 1 to July 15, 2024

In partnership with fellow cross-sector public safety organizations, Titan Security is monitoring the following special events and demonstrations in or near the Chicago Loop. Listings are grouped into two-week periods and updated on a constant basis.

Anticipated Protests and Events

  • Thursday, July 4 at 2:00pm: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group may gather for their cause “Say No to Celebrating America”
  • Thursday, July 4 at 4:00pm: 806 N Michigan (Water Tower), Group will gather/march for their cause “Independence for All: Stop the U.S. Back Genocide in Gaza” #
  • Friday, July 5: Time TBD at city/county political locations; Group may gather for their cause “F*ck the DNC Fridays” **
  • Saturday, July 6 at 8:00am: E Jackson/S Columbus (Grant Park), Group will gather for their event “NASCAR Chicago Street Race” *
  • Saturday, July 6 at 11:00am: E Roosevelt/S Michigan, Group will gather/march for their cause “Fair CFD Contract: Police and Fire United”
  • Sunday, July 7 at 8:00am: E Jackson/S Columbus (Grant Park), Group will gather for their event “NASCAR Chicago Street Race” *
  • Thursday, July 11 at 3:00pm: 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance Day”
  • Thursday, July 11 to Sunday, July 14: 1901 W Madison (United Center), Group will gather for their event “Windy City Smokeout”
  • Friday, July 12: Time TBD at city/county political locations, Group may gather for their cause “F*ck the DNC Fridays” **
  • Saturday, July 13 at 10:00am: 205 E Randolph (Harris Theater), Group will gather for their event “Chicago Loop Alliance + My Block, My Hood, My City Youth Event”
  • Saturday, July 13 at 1:00pm: 806 N Michigan (Water Tower), Group will gather/march for their cause “End Nine Months of U.S. Backed Genocide in Gaza”
  • Ongoing: short-notice protests related to the conflict in Gaza are anticipated to continue, including localized traffic and transit disruptions

Notes/Analysis

# = Original location was E Ida B Wells and S Michigan, and some protesters may still arrive there

* = Street closures in effect as of late June; All-day event centered in Grant Park, see specific SecureChicago event entry for more information

** = Turnout has been small, possible locales include Cook County Democratic Party HQ at 134 N LaSalle, McCormick Place at 2301 S Martin Luther King, or Chicago Host Committee Offices at 120 N Racine

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
