City of Chicago Public Safety Call Notes for February 2, 2022

Titan Security Group participated in the City of Chicago Public Safety Call on Wednesday February 2, 2022. The meeting was held to inform city officials, organizations and security suppliers of the latest information surrounding activity in the city, upcoming demonstrations and events, and updates on safety initiatives within Chicago. The following is a summary of the meeting hosted on Zoom.

City of Chicago Safety Forum – 2/2/22 Conference Call Notes
Hosted by Chicago Deputy Mayors Samir Mayekar and John O’Malley, and multiple CPD officials including Jill Stevens and Duane DeVries. Held via conference call, from 5:35-5:55pm.

  • CTA shutdown attempt was a non-event with small number of participants and no CTA walkouts
  • Larger protest on 02/03 will seek to convince federal prosecutors to charge Jason Van Dyke with civil rights violations
  • Update on retail crimes task force included a couple of recent arrests for high-dollar thefts at Burberry and Gucci locations
    • Task force expects additional arrests soon, and appreciates support via court advocacy programs in 1st and 18th districts
  • Mayor’s office also provided quick economic recap emphasizing positive aspects of COVID recovery and predicting an improved 2022
