Anticipated Chicago Demonstration Activity: May 13 to May 20, 2022

Coordinating with our cross-sector life safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring a range of special events and protest activity in or near the Chicago Loop. Please find a current list of those dates and locations below.

Anticipated Events and Protests

• Friday, May 13 at 11:00am, 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park) to 180 N Michigan (Hudson Institute), Group will gather/march for their cause “UE Union Rally & Picket”
• Friday, May 13 at 2:30pm, 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group will gather for their cause “Die-In Demonstration: Stop the Supreme Court from Taking Away the Right to Abortion” *
• Saturday, May 14 at 9:00am, 1500 W Washington (Union Park), Group will gather for their cause “Counterprotest: Abortion will be Abolished (Outreach)” *
• Saturday, May 14 at 9:30am, 1500 W Washington (Union Park), Groups will gather/march for their cause “Bans Off Our Bodies Day of Action/Rally for Abortion Justice Chicago” *
• Saturday, May 14 at 12:00pm, 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Rally for Roe – Gather to Defend Roe v Wade” **
• Saturday, May 14 at 1:00pm, 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park, Wrigley Square), Group will gather/march for their cause “Abortion on Demand and Without Apology!” *

• Sunday, May 15 at 8:00am, 233 S Wacker (Willis Tower), Helicopter lift scheduled with street closures including S Wacker, S Franklin, W Adams, W Van Buren
• Sunday, May 15 at 12:00pm, 919 N Michigan (Louis Vuitton), Group will gather for their cause “Fur Protest Against Louis Vuitton”
• Sunday, May 15 at 2:00pm, 250 N LaSalle (approximate), Group will gather for their cause “Defend Roe: Chicago” *
• Sunday, May 15 at 2:00pm, S Michigan / E Ida B Wells, Group will gather for their cause “National Day of Protest – NAKBA 74 Justice for Shireen”
• Tuesday, May 17 at 4:30pm, 42 W Madison (CPD Headquarters), Group will gather for their cause “Charter School Contract Kick Off Rally”
• Wednesday, May 18 at 5:30pm, 100 W Randolph (Thompson Center), Group will gather for their cause “Chicago Ride of Silence 2022”
• Thursday, May 19 at 6:00pm, 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group will gather for their cause “Save Our Children #endgunviolence”

Notes/Analysis

* = Ongoing and widespread protests related to the pending SCOTUS decision regarding Roe v Wade should be anticipated

** = Anticipated to be the largest protest of the week, depending on weather conditions; organizers indicate group may march to Wacker/LaSalle

Safety Tips Near/During Protests

• If you see something suspicious, report it
• Carry water and stay hydrated
• Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
• Utilize the buddy system
• Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
• Leave any valuables at home
• Do not jump any barricades
• Secure handbags and wallets
• Stay calm and pleasant
• Follow your own instincts
• Leave yourself room to move quickly
