Chicago Demonstration and Event Activity: November 15 to November 30, 2023

In partnership with cross-sector public-safety agencies, Titan is monitoring the following special events and protests in or near the Chicago Loop.

Protests and Events

  • Wednesday, November 15 at 5:00pm: 702 W Fulton (Carnivale), Group will gather for their event “Anti-Defamation League 110th Anniversary”
  • Thursday, November 16 at 2:00pm: 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza), Group will gather for their cause “Die-In for a Ceasefire!” *
  • Friday, November 17: Location TBD, Group may gather for their cause “Shut It Down for Palestine”
  • Friday, November 17 at 6:00pm: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group will gather for their event “Chicago Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony”
  • Saturday, November 18 at 1:00pm: 301 S Columbus (Buckingham Fountain), Group will gather for their cause “Protect Gaza!”
  • Saturday, November 18 at 5:30pm: 800 N Michigan to 400 N Michigan, Group will gather/march for their event “Magnificent Mile Lights Festival”
  • Saturday, November 18 at 6:30pm: 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park), Group may gather for their event “Trend Teen Meetup” **
  • Wednesday, November 22 at 6:00pm: 33 E Lower Wacker (Riverwalk), Group may gather for their cause “Bamboo Boat Float for Palestine”
  • Thursday, November 23 at 8:00am: 350 N State to 500 S State, Group will gather/march for their event “Thanksgiving Day Parade”
  • Friday, November 24 at 11:00am: 806 N Michigan (Water Tower, likely other Mag Mile sites), Group may gather for their cause “Save Palestine / Black Friday: Shut it Down for Palestine” ***
  • Saturday, November 25 at 12:40pm: 301 S Columbus (Buckingham Fountain), Group may gather for their cause “Populist Front for a New America”
  • Saturday, November 25 at 5:30pm: 806 N Michigan (Water Tower), Group will gather for their cause “90th Anniversary of Ukrainian Genocide – Holodomor”
  • Sunday, November 26, Time TBD: 455 N Cityfront (Turkish Consulate), Group may gather for their cause “Women’s Global Day of Action for Palestine”
  • Ongoing: short-notice demonstrations related to conflict in Gaza are anticipated to continue; may cause localized traffic or transit disruptions

* = Protest originally set for 11/17, moved to 11/16

** = Occasional gatherings of teens driven by social media; attendance is highly weather dependent

*** = Multiple protest/demonstration events posted on social media, possibly interrelated

Event/Protest Best Practices

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
