Place the mask over your face, with the bottom below your chin and the nosepiece up. Place the straps of the mask over each of your ears. Adjust the metal nose clip using fingers from both hands to mold the clip to the shape of your nose. Adjust fit as necessary to reduce air flow around the mask.

For disposable masks and cloth masks: Untie the strings behind your head or stretch the ear loops and fold the outside corners together.

Respirators: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Disposable masks should be thrown away after they’re worn once.

Yes. Titan can provide proper PPE to ensure employees can safely do their job, including face coverings and gloves.  PPE must be properly worn at all times while at work.  If a client is requesting face coverings and gloves notify your supervisor and the uniform department to place an order at [email protected].  

Note:  Other forms of PPE including sanitizers, face shields, N95 masks, etc. are not typically provided by Titan as they are generally not required for our employees to safely perform their jobs.  If a client is requesting other forms of PPE notify them that these items may be billable and notify your supervisor, Director of Quality Assurance, and your Sales Coordinator for next steps.  

Not typically.  Generally this is provided by the building to ensure that the desk protection screening or sneeze guard is specified and installed properly.  If a client is requesting Titan provide security desk protection screens or sneeze guards, notify your supervisor and your Sales Coordinator to begin the quotation and order process.

Yes.  Titan trains our employees to monitor and remind tenants, visitors and building contractors of building policies.  However, our employees are not law enforcement and will not detain someone violating a policy.

The client and or building should provide regular cleaning of the security workstations in compliance with CDC and WHO protocols.  However, employees should keep their work area clean during and throughout their shifts.  Refer to the flyer Best Practices for Cleaning Your Work Area.  Contact your supervisor with any further questions or concerns. 

Yes.  A client can generally change security coverage at any time by providing staff proper notice.  Under normal circumstances, proper notice is defined as ten (10) days.  During the COVID-19 pandemic the proper notice requirement was temporarily suspended.  Refer to COVID-19 MOA.

Generally, this is determined by seniority.  Follow the Reduction in Hours Checklist to ensure all steps are completed properly.

Yes.  The union and Titan do not view any reduction as temporary.  The full layoff procedure must be completed including updating the pricing.  Follow the Reduction in Hours Checklist.

Confirm this request with the client in writing via email for each instance.  Forward the email approval from your client to your supervisor and Sales Coordinator so an alternate bill rate can be identified and processed accordingly. 

Yes.  There are many areas of concern to review during reopening including officer positioning, PPE, dock procedures, elevator procedures, post order changes, etc.  Download the Reopening Questionnaire to excel, review with your supervisor, and schedule a call with the client to complete the Reopening Questionnaire.  You should also review the BOMA International information on Getting Back to Work: Preparing Buildings for Re-Entry Amid COVID-19, which can be provided to your clients for reference.  

Forward the completed Reopening Questionnaire to your supervisor, the Director of Quality Assurance and your Sales Coordinator. 

Follow the Recall Checklist to ensure all steps are completed properly.  If reopening schedules are 100% the exact same as the schedule prior to the pandemic-related schedule reduction, then the schedules should be reassigned to the staff members that held those positions prior to the schedule reduction. If the reopening schedule changes at all from the schedule prior pandemic-related schedule reduction, then the schedules should be re-bid in accordance with CBA policy, which is typically determined by seniority. 

Yes.  Training hours related to existing positions being “reopened” or “recalled” are billable.  These costs are due to the building’s decision to reduce coverage and are billable to the building.

Yes.  If required by a client, Titan can mandate that its employees conduct health self-screening at home and report the results to Titan.  Employees are required to complete a health self-screening at home before coming to work and, if positive, then immediately call-in and stay home, but, if negative, come to work.  

Once at work, the employee will answer screening questions upon clocking in through Team Time.  

If a site is requiring employees to take their temperature this, the site will need to provide a stipend of $25 per employee to reimburse the employee for the out-of-pocket thermometer expenses since it is a requirement of the job, which will be billable.  Ensure you get approval for this in writing from your client.  

If your client requests this, notify your supervisor, the Director of Quality Assurance, and your Sales Coordinator immediately.  Review, update and post the Mandatory Employee Self Screening Policy and Acknowledgement at the site and ensure each officer that works at the site signs the acknowledgement.  Completed acknowledgement forms should be submitted to [email protected].

Yes, but It is not preferred to conduct temperature screening onsite.  The mandatory self-screening policy described above should be recommended.  BOMA International also recommends that buildings do not participate in onsite health screening refer to BOMA Health Screening Talking Points.  Items to consider include:

• any employee that is sent home due to failing a temperature screening onsite would have already been onsite and potentially infected others,
• any employee that is sent home due to failing a temperature screening onsite would be due the four (4) hour show-up pay, which would be billable to the client, 
• and any overtime due to a hold-over or alternative staffing required to fill a post vacated by someone that failed a temperature screen onsite would also be billable to the client,  
• Additionally the cost of the equipment to conduct this screening will also be billable.  

If, after discussing the information above, the client still requires that Titan conduct temperature screenings of its employees onsite, coordinate a call with the client, your supervisor and the Director of Quality Assurance to review the Mandatory Self-Screening Policy, the considerations above, and the process for the onsite screening.  

Verify the onsite screening process in writing with the client, including their approval of paying the four (4) hour show-up pay, overtime as a result of the onsite screening, and for the equipment.

Yes.  Titan is able to provide this service if (i) the process is clearly defined and agreed upon in writing and (ii) an addendum to the contract is fully executed prior to service beginning.  If a client requests this service, download and follow the Temperature Screening Checklist to document the process and send the completed questionnaire to your supervisor, the Director of Quality Assurance, and your Sales Coordinator.

Note: An addendum to the current contract is required to be fully executed to reflect the new terms related to this procedure prior to implementation. Refer to the Addendum to Titan Service Contract_Temperature Screening Services template. 

If current positions are being used then the existing pricing is acceptable.  If new temporary non-screening positions are being created, then the existing extra service rate is acceptable.  If new temporary screening positions are being created, then the rate per hour for the new temporary screening services is $30 per hour and the Addendum to Titan Service Contract_Temperature Screening Services template is required. 

For new clients: The rate per hour for screening services is $45 per hour plus a security contract will need to be executed.  Notify your supervisor and Sales Coordinator of these requests.

• Contact the employee to:
  • Obtain a copy of medical documentation
  • Verify information including date symptoms started, last day worked, date tested and date confirmed positive
  • Obtain a list of other employees that they came in close contact with the individual
    • Close contact means being in a household or having close contact (within 6 feet) for a prolonged period of time (over 105 minutes total in a 24 hour period) for the period of time of 142 days before the individual became symptomatic
• Send the infected employee a letter documenting this activity 
• Notify client by letter 
• Notify the site and staff with general memo and flyers on how to protect themselves and what to do if they have questions or symptoms 
• Contact any employees that came in close contact with the infected employee within 214 days of the date symptoms started to (i) notify them personally WITHOUT identifying the infected employee and (ii) see if the employee is fully vaccinated, if not notify them to stay home based on latest CDC guidelines.

Note that the last step is in accordance with current CDC guidelines (Public Health Recommendations for Community-Related Exposure) and subject to change based on any updated guidance.
